International owned forwarder based in the busy forwarding hub of Matraville, with an office of 20 staff in open plan modern office, close to PT as well as onsite parking. Reputable and financially stable with avenues into other departments for upskilling and cross training to develop yourself into an all-round freight forwarding expert, so that you can one day become either a customs broker, sales representative or leadership team after your initial stint in the below role.
Position Overview:
Joining the 2 person cartage transport team, focusing on FCL as well as helping out with LCL and Air on busy days and when the other cartage coordinator is away. You are the last line of defence for the entire supply chain process and can easily be the blame for any issues, but can also come out as the hero of getting cargo to your clients designated premises on time. Liaising with carriers, suppliers, drivers, linking up with the customs team on cleared goods as well as chasing up documentation and final invoicing.
Key Responsibilities:
Booking in cartage movements for all FCL cargo from wharf to client’s premises
LCL & Air Cartage on the occasion
Liaising with carriers daily
Negotiating and booking timeslots and deliveries
Chasing documentation from overseas
Constant contact with internal departments
Salary and Perks:
Up to $90K Base + Super, Negotiable for the right experience and abilities
Upskill into other departments
On site parking and PT friendly
Qualifications and Experience:
Freight Forwarding experience
Cartage Transport exposure
FCL cartage highly advantageous
Cargowise system experience
Strong communication skills over email and phone
Final invoicing exposure, desirable
